Gratitude Letter to Lois

By Carisa Carlton

Day Nineteen of my “30-Days of Gratitude” journey

October 3, 2017

Dear Lois,

In the early 90s, you were the most sophisticated city woman I had ever met. You were well educated, fashionable, sensible, graceful, and sociable. You made it all seem so simple. I was flattered by your company.

I am grateful for the opportunities you provided me in print news media. I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute to your stories. I am grateful for the professional exposure you provided me.

I am grateful for you teaching me to hold my head high. I am grateful for you teaching me to speak carefully. I am grateful for you teaching me to persevere. I am grateful for the time I spent with you.

Thank you for listening to me. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for trusting me. Thank you for the lovely meetings overlooking the San Francisco Bay. Thank you for always dressing the part. And, thank you for being you in all your glory and class.

Carisa
