Gratitude Letter to David

By Carisa Carlton

Day Twelve of my “30-Days of Gratitude” journey

September 22, 2017

Dear David,

I am grateful that when you received five different transcripts from five different colleges for a new college applicant in 2016, you reached out to me as a total stranger and asked if you could help. I am grateful that you dedicated so much of your time to sort out all of the intricacies of my complex educational background. I am grateful you pointed me to the right people at Saddleback College so that I could receive the best possible services.

I am grateful for you taking the time to work and rework all of my educational goals and options. I am grateful for your communication with others on my behalf. I am grateful for your patience. I am grateful for your kindness. I am grateful for your professionalism. I am grateful for your dedication. I am grateful for your responsiveness. I am grateful for your expertise.

I am grateful that you — YOU — told me to apply to University of California, Irvine. I am grateful for the queries you wrote to their staff on my behalf. I am grateful for your encouragement along the way. I am grateful for the insight you provided to me that gave me the courage to try.

I am grateful that because of you, I completed a major step in my journey to inner happiness. I am grateful that because of your generous help, I was motivated to try my best.

David, thank you for all you did for me. I wish you joy in your family, in your spiritual journey, and in your career. And, please always remember, you made a positive contribution to my life, and through the ripple effect, you blessed my family and everyone who knows me. Thank you for your example of walking the honorable walk.

With the greatest respect,

Carisa
